In 1940, Tom Hartness purchases the Pepsi Bottling rights in Greenville, SC. In the late 1940’s, Tom develops his first case packer. Over the next 60 years, the company evolves as a total packaging solutions provider with over 100 patents and installations throughout the world

The Hartness 800 Series is introduced and becomes the foundation for the Hartness family of products
1996
The Octopack is patented, and introduces a new generation of high speed, continuous motion packers to the Hartness line
1997
Hartness pioneers the Video Response System
1998
The DYNAC is created, representing a dramatic change in thinking about product handling. Hartness DYNAC Systems is created.
1999
Pat Hartness creates the GlobalPack, a rotary packer designed to operate 20,000 hours without major service
2003
Hartness introduces Hartness Error Recording on Line (HERO).
 
Hartness International Integration is launched, providing more sophisticated solutions based upon Hartness systems and technologies.
2004
Hartness Conveyor was launched to better serve our customers needs.
2005
Hartness introduces a new Tray Shrink System
 
Hartness unveils the revolutionary, compact GlobalFill that eliminates the need for change parts
2006
HartnessVisy Automation is formed to offer world class automation and robotic solutions
 
Hartness Performance Solutions is created offering a full range of line diagnostic systems
2007
Hartness adds a new Spiral Elevator/Lowerator for cases and bottles to its specialty conveyor line

Hartness-Inks was launched to provide a revolutionary ink application process that is sustainable and environmentally friendly.
  Hartness Performance Solutions introduces FlashBack a portable, remote troubleshooting product that takes the guesswork out of production problems.
Hartness launches DCL-Dry Conveyor Lube, D-FOAM-R, and other Sustainable Solutions that keep up with market demands and help promote the sustainable initiatives of our customers.
2009
Grab Pack, a new printed film package, is formally launched worldwide.
  A new generation 100 bundles per minute tray, pad or film only Shrink Wrapper is unveiled.
